He had style, he generated excitement and he transmitted his enthusiasm for the sport into the viewers.
He's a first ballot Hall Of Famer.
I don't recall what event I was listening to, but it sounded to me like I heard a young broadcaster imitating Keith Jackson sometime during the past few years or so...?.

I grew up listening to Jackson both here and when he moved to ABC as a national announcer in 1964. Many of you guys missed out on a superb announcer doing games every week on KOMO Radio. One of the best. I didn't want him to retire but just go on and on and on. Still miss his "Whoa, Nellie!"

RIP, Keith. We'll miss you.

The first games I remember him doing were the Rose Bowl Games with Jim Owens' teams. He put you in the stadium. Great announcer who will be remembered for a long time. He did both WSU and UW football, though not at the same time. Started out at WSU and then was hired by KOMO. He actually broadcast the first sporting event from the old Soviet Union when UW rowers went over to compete in some Moscow regatta.

I grew up listening to Keith Jackson. He's involved in some of my earliest sports memories.

I've missed him, and will continue to do so. No one, in my not so humble opinion, comes close.
