Jon has had quite the story book career.

Played at Central Washington U., signed as a free agent withe Seattle, allocated to the Barcelona Dragons of NFL Europe in 1997 by the Hawks, came back, understudied under Warren Moon here, started a few years, signed with the Bengals, played and started in Detroit and finished with the Cowboys. 14 year pro.
Kitna was fun to watch. Not the most talented QB ever but he had grit.

In his career he threw 169 TDs and almost matched that with 165 career interceptions.

Became head coach in Tacoma (Lincoln High School) and was a math teacher there for 3 years. His last year he led them to an 11-1 record.
Resigned and accepted the head football coach job at Waxahachie High School in Waxahachie, Texas for 3 years.

Wikipedia sums it up:

In February 2018, Kitna was hired at Brophy College Preparatory, an all-men Jesuit high school in Phoenix, Arizona. He chose Brophy because of Coach Thurmond Moore and Coach Joe Denk, a Hall of Fame Strength and Conditoning coach out of Ohio.

In June 2018, he was named the offensive coordinator for the San Diego Fleet of the Alliance of American Football, which began play in 2019. However, he did not coach a game for the Fleet as he joined the Cowboys staff in January to become their quarterbacks coach.

I just always liked Jon Kitna. Good luck in Dallas.
