More proof of a Mariner Curse

Postby D-Trains on Sun Feb 11, 2018 7:52 pm

Not that we needed more proof but here are three recent examples:

2017 Cishek as a Mariner: 3.15 ERA 4.81 FIP
2017 Cishek as a Ray: 1.09 ERA 2.14 FIP

2017 Marjama as a Durham Bull .787 OPS
2017 Marjama as a Rainier .590 OPS

2017 Ford in the Yankees Org: .875 OPS
Ford after being traded to us in the winter league: .483 OPS

You can't make this stuff up. And I still can't wrap my head around the fact that our top three draft picks the past two years all ended last season injured.

Finally a common sense argument on why we have sucked for so long. It must be the curse, and i for one would be all over bringing in a voo-doo Doctor to eradicate the bad ju-ju of this franchise. The sooner the better another 16 years of this and hell i for one will probably be dead and forgotten.

How bout this?

The only one of the starters to remain healthy all year was Gallardo, the Worst.

Good one. And who was the ONLY position player that stayed healthy the entire season?

Valencia: by far the worst on the team.

Feckin' curses. Safeco must be built on old tribal burial ground or something. Maybe the Kingdome was as well. Voodoo Doctor, Shaman, Exorcist, Native American Spirit Man...bring them in and drive out the demons.

Meanwhile, women's curling is in full swing. Kaitlyn Lawes of Canada is a babe.

I don’t agree, he was hitting about .270, and was on a roll, before ADDipoto benched him for Alonso, he slumped thereafter.

He had a .735 OPS on Aug. 5th which is horrible for a 1B when we traded for Yonder. He ended up with -0.4 WAR which was the second worst in baseball for a 1B. Alonso finished with 2.4 WAR.

Good lord! Really questioning what we are doing obsessing about a bunch of dudes with bats and balls when we are missing out on a whole world out there! :)

btw I learned a lot about surfing during that vid. I didn't realize swimsuits were optional!
