Snowpocalypse

Postby SonsofHan on Sat Feb 09, 2019 3:16 pm

Put me in Trump's camp.
The Snowpocalypse of19' will usher in a new ice age. No need for SPringtraining. I have conquered the roads and have food for a few days. TP is good for a week but if the power goes out. I should have listened to that nice preacher who warned us from his sidewalk pulpit. The end is near Winter is here!

Last year had fewer sunspots than the past 40 years or so. They expect a downturn in sunspot activity for a few more years. So what do sunspots have to do with our weather? Fewer sunspots cools our atmosphere. The last time they had a lower number of sunspots was during the Little Ice Age or Maunder Minimum from 1645 to 1715. Apparently there were some guys who would look at the sun and would record fewer sunspot activity.

We could be in for a colder than usual climate, but I wouldn't call it "Sudden Climate Change." Perhaps it's just "weather?" .

The United States has a lot of things to worry about with regard to natural phenomena. There's that super-volcano under Yellowstone that is due to blow any millennium now. There's that subduction zone (or whatever it's called) off the west coast that jolts every 300 years, there's low lying areas of high population density on the Eastern seaboard vulnerable to rising sea levels, and then there's that little glaciation thing every 100,000 years.

Yep, they were out of control with all those campfires. Once they learned how to BBQ, it was Wooly Mamoth Ribs and steaks all day every day.
