This list is not exactly the same as mine but very close to it.

Is there anyone here that would rather trade JRod than Dunn? See that is is just lunacy to me.

wouldn't you rather trade Dunn? I wouldn't be surprised if you were offered more for Dunn than Jrod ...there is a higher probability at this point of Dunn being a ML pitcher than Jrod being a ML outfielder

from another list
Rodriguez has a better skill set with a higher upside than a few names we will see ranked ahead of him on our list. His age, combined with his lack of a professional resume, leaves him at #5 on our list. By this time next year, he could rank as high as second, barring any surprising trades.

Rodriguez is one of the few Mariners prospects worth dreaming on. He has a legitimate chance to not only play in the big leagues, but to be an everyday contributor, if not more. Dreaming on a guy like Rodriguez is easy. Being patient enough to see the results is a whole different story.

Yes, I would obviously rather trade Dunn. I agree there is a higher probability that Dunn makes it because he is closer but I think he is the low ceiling, high floor type guy that keeps us stuck in mediocrity.

I see a guy that has been rushed, he could be the closer of the future or develop into a decent mid rotation guy, I don't see that as low ceiling

it’s important to remember that Dunn only had a year of starting in college before going pro, and was promoted aggressively in the Mets’ system. Unlike someone like Erik Swanson, a relatively polished pitcher with a palpable ceiling, Dunn offers tantalizing upside if properly developed.

Here is a better more recent write up. People are excited because his fastball sits at 93-96. That seem pretty average to me these days.

His fastball generally sits 93-96 MPH. During his days as a reliever at Boston College, his fastball could reach as high as 99 MPH, so Dunn does have the ability to reach back a little more when and if he feels like completely airing it out. In addition to velocity, his fastball has good arm-side run, especially when thrown down in the zone. His primary breaking ball is a slider that flashes above-average. The pitch, which sits 82-86, has sharp, two-plate action, with tight spin and a good amount of vertical drop.

he has an above average fastball and an above average slider, he doesn't have a 3rd pitch, if he develops that then he could be a pretty good starting pitcher, seems to me that was about the same thing that is said about Shefield isn't it? I still do not see anything particularly low ceiling about it

Yeah, I guess he does have a pretty high ceiling but it just seems the odds of reaching that ceiling are very low so I discount it. Maybe our new PC that Divish profiled on my new thread will get it done.
