Cal and Stanford

Postby kc26 on Thu Jan 11, 2018 11:18 am

Really have to win these next two if we hope to have a chance at the NCAA tournament.

I actually can't even believe I am saying "a chance" as I did not even expect to be able to utter those words this season.

Agree can't believe how early the success has come. We play 9 of 15 at home and really only need to win 8 more regular season and 1-2 tourney games to get in. imo.

I'm shocked at how good they've done. If Hopkins can recruit as well as he teaches players his system, the future is bright. I've been hoping for March Madness too, but after last season I'm happy just to have a solid winning record with a coach who shows promise.

Huskies are currently 43rd in RPI so according to this, would make the NCAA tournament if the season ended today based on record and strength of schedule

I just hope the Huskies keep flying under the radar for a while and continue to improve. Love to see them in March Madness.

Jay Bilas had an article on ESPN.com yesterday chronicling his current top 68 men's college basketball teams.
U-Dub.....not a sniff yet.

Coach Hopkins is leading the young men down the right path to winning ways.

If Billis had his way the only PAC 12 schools that were ever eligible for the advance would be AZ and UCLA.

So Kansas is 14-3 and 4-1 in conference and is expected to be a 3 seed. We are 13-4 and 3-1 in conference beat them on the road and are still not even expected to make the tourney. I know why but still seems weird.

Imagine the records were reversed and Kansas had beat us at home. Do you think we would be the 3 seed and they would be on the outside looking in. lol

WOW! Unbelievable!

Lucky he and a teammate or two weren't crushed in the happy scrum pileup after he sank it.
