Naz Carter again! Damn that was impressive going from a 15 point lead down to 5 and then right back up to 15.

Naz's G Ma must be proud. :D

Nice Antique Road Show Men! Shut down defense and good ball movement getting it done old school. Love it!

Yeah, if Nowell has or had any notions of submitting for the NBA draft at season's conclusion I think re-thinking the preposterous idea is in order. He's got game but not that much......yet.

That's game. 69 - 53 victory for UW.
Nice Pac-12 start.

Where we are almost always a pleasure to watch on defense we can also be painful to watch offensively due usually to a herky jerky lack of flow coupled with inconsistent outside shooting. There was significantly more flow tonight for whatever reason and it was fun to watch. That's a big step going forward.

If we can knock off Colorado we can come home at 3-0 to play Stanford and Cal who will likely be 0-8 combined. A 5-0 start would be nice.

There are many Huskies who should have come back for another season. Just about every one of them got paid anyway.

Nowell is kind of a weird case. He has a lot of potential and ability, but he does a lot of basic things really poorly that keep him from being elite.

1. He misses bunnies on a regular basis. You wanna be a great 2 guard? You can't miss shots 2 feet from the hoop where you've got the defender off balance and he does it all the time.

2. He's prone to serious mental lapses. He's such a rhythm guy and if it's not going his way he just goes dormant for entire halves. It usually happens when he decides to not attack the rim and just dribble it around the perimeter... he'll get loose with the ball and make weak passes or give away easy steals and then commit a dumb foul.

3. His shot, while decent on the perimeter when he's not contested (you'll notice most the 3's he hits are when the D breaks down and nobody closes on him), has bad rotation. You'll notice that his jumper doesn't dance on the rim very well and he has problems missing long with a big clank off the rim. It's a mechanical issue that works better mid-range than from 3 and that's why he has a decent mid-range game.

4. He is HORRIBLE in transition. Watching him and Crisp run a fast break opportunity is painful... half the time he ends up barreling into the defender for a charge or throwing away a pass that's nowhere near the open player.

5. He picks up way, way, way too many charges. He hasn't learned how to draw the defender into a foul... instead, he makes it way to easy for the ref to call weak charges against him because he doesn't use angles well driving to the rack.

6. He doesn't get the line nearly enough for a guy who does such a good job getting deep into the paint. Part of the issue is mentioned above... but he'd rather get in the paint, get a defender off their feet and then fade away to shoot a 5 footer than get the defender off their feet and then go into the body to draw the foul and possible and-1. He only averages 3 free throw attempts per game... for measure... James Harden averaged 8 attempts a game at ASU.
