Key Arena

Cons - Terrible traffic, no parking, 50+ year old building with a tiny foot print that needs to retro fitted. Developers asking for public financial support. Can't start construction until after the 2019 NCAA basketball regionals.

Pros - City owns it.

Sodo arena

Pros - Plenty of space. In an area zoned for Stadia. Brand new state of the art facility. No public financing required.

Cons - Corrupt POS against it despite zero proof that it will cause more congestion than the two current stadia which have 2.5 times and 3.5 times the attendance capacity.

Verdict: If you are any rational human the Sodo Arena is preferable. If you are the SCC the Key area is the only option.

Summed up beautifully. Make sure you send it to Chris Hansen!

I am wondering if the other pro for the Key is going to be them having an NHL team to go in it

Cool, although it might be risky for the editor to do so since we all know his boss is VERY pro-Key/anti-Sodo.

By the way, forgot to share this earlier but the Sodo Arena Team has been talking to potential NHL ownership groups: https://twitter.com/PSBJ/status/854806708828241921

Both arenas plans call for the NHL so I don't see it as a pro for either when comparing the two. Just like I would say that being in Seattle is a pro for either since they both are in Seattle.

they both may plan for one, what I am wondering is the Key may deliver one as part of the deal, both those groups have NHL guys as partners.

well we shall see...that has been the deal with Hansen, he was supposed to come up with a NBA team and hasn't. Murray has been bringing that up. Everybody is totally focused on the NBA, what if one or both of the Key groups announce an NHL team? I have no idea what that would all involve, it could be someone more in the know could quickly put that angle to rest but I just am wondering. I said already, I am seeing all these connections with them and the NHL.
