According to Aaron, the next arena meeting is tentatively scheduled for November 10th: https://twitter.com/AaronQ13Fox/status/ ... 1244549120

I posted both articles yesterday morning.

Nobody here should have to drive 3 hours to Portland to get their NBA fix, which is what the NBA was banking on after the Sonics left. Of course, that failed miserably as no Sonics fan would just suddenly start rooting for the Blazers (except when they play a certain team from a midwestern state in the shape of a panhandle). That's like if the Red Sox leave and MLB telling those in Boston to just either start rooting for the Yankees/Mets or Blue Jays. NEVER. GOING. TO. HAPPEN.

The backstory of this particular child speaking at Tuesday's hearing is that he has to go to Portland to watch NBA games. Juarez's response to him is that Seattle already has professional basketball in the Storm. Ironically, this child was wearing a Storm t-shirt underneath his Sonics jersey. This is not a knock on the Storm (especially since they were able to win something the Blunder have yet to do  ), it's just that as Eric Phan says, the Storm doesn't come close to the financial power an NBA team brings. But I guess for Juarez, it's good enough for her.

The arena saga continues...

Regarding spam, I just spoke with someone regarding the spam and they said that not only should everyone report the spam to increase the likelihood of something happening about it but also so the Times knows that people care about these forums as they could be in jeopardy of going away........

How can anyone be excited about a remodel of a nearly 60 yo building. Oh look, padded seats!!!! And the tile on the restroom floors is to die for!

Why does OVG care about the Sodo arena. All they have to do to prevent it from being built is secure an NBA franchise and Sodo goes away.........hmmmmm

We all know by now that it's all about the roof and how it couldn't be touched or all hell will break loose.

The pro-Key crowd love to boast that it'll be an entirely new arena. Yeah, but it's still lipstick on a pig.

The NBA needs to approve the Key rebuild first. At least, that's what I heard from the talking heads over at SR. It sure would be funny if Seattle went with the Key, only to have the NBA say no.
