NHL Commish in Seattle today

Postby JAWA on Wed Jan 09, 2019 9:49 pm

The main points from today's press conference with the NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman: https://twitter.com/BringBackSonics/sta ... 6132417536

It appears we'll all find out what the name of Seattle's NHL franchise will be this spring. As for potential names: https://twitter.com/ChrisDaniels5/statu ... 3681906688

One more thing, Bruce Harrell will not seek re-election. Interesting to see what his biggest regret is: https://twitter.com/ChrisDaniels5/statu ... 7646641152

Although he did vote for the vacation of Occidental, Chris's second application to vacate it has not been dealt with yet. And we're coming up on two years since Chris submitted said application. I wonder if most applications for street vacations takes two-plus years to complete. Of course, if the POS needs a street vacated, it's done lickety-split. Well, perhaps before Bruce leaves office, he and the rest of the SCC can approve the conditional vacation of Occidental. Again, it doesn't hurt and actually doubles our chances of getting the NBA back, especially since rumblings from them are they are not content with the financial setup at the Key.

CM Rob Johnson to join the Seattle NHL franchise after his term ends: https://twitter.com/ChrisDaniels5/statu ... 4231179264

Pretty good pick-up by NHL Seattle, especially since they haven't done anything to mitigate the traffic problems of the LQA. I think they got the right guy for the job.

Maybe he will figure something out but I wouldn't exactly say that being on the SCC is some crowning achievement to put on your resume.

Can't wait to see the match.

Anyone knows when it starts this season.

By the way, check my post right here https://raise5.com/portable-basketball-hoop/ for the good one!

Well, he did support the street vacation, but he also fell in line when it came to approving the MOU for the Key remodel. Which explains the negative responses on that particular tweet. Also, don't forget the city has a new "traffic czar" so both he and Rob can mitigate the traffic mess in the LQA! While they're at it, perhaps they mitigate the so-called traffic mess in Sodo or is that asking too much?

Sigh...

Did you see Baker's latest article? Wrote about 1200 words on why we probably can't have an outdoor winter classic NHL game because it might rain......during the winter.......in Seattle...........in three years. Now there is some in depth riveting journalism. :|
