The reason the game is slotted for that day and time is the same reason the ticket prices are so low....the poor perception of the Conference. The NCAA doesn't care if anyone shows up to our game, they know that no one is going to. That could be the region, that football just isn't as important on the West Coast, what ever. BUT...that is all the more reason playing this game at a Neutral sight is foolish! Unless the game is played by a California team, and most likely a Bay area California team, no one will go.

Larry doesn't get this, but that is probably because he is too busy screwing up the TV deal (just lost Time Warner) and spending money on a bunch of unnecessary things to figure it out. The Conference has become a Joke and Larry is the Clown leading the way.

And who is responsible for that, Jake Browning's fault too?

you know, it actually could be. Sad fact is, QBs get the most attention and a QB like Jake who can't play certainly doesn't do much for to drive appeal for the conference when he's the QB on the best team. Watch the Huskies and Pac12 get a ton more love around October next year when Eason is lighting it up

idk about this really. conference seems to only get a poor perception from the sec based media.. people like that clown paul feinbaum. There's plenty of media out there that speak highly of the Pac and rep it well. Guys like Yogi Roth and Brock Huard. So I really take exception to this notion. Even the college gameday guys like Herbstreit and Fowler give the Pac12 its due. And you look around at the recruits that are coming to pac12 schools, it's still top of the line. We got Oregon and UW in the top 15 right now. Last year USC, UW, Oregon and Stanford all pulled top 20 classes.

So, spend more and earn less, and somehow that is excusable? Roses, the fact that the ticket was in such low demand at such a ridiculous location that the price was less than $10 is not a good thing for the Conference. Less than $10 a ticket and still no one went?

http://sports.mynorthwest.com/556871/on ... rry-scott/

This is a pretty good read.

That’s how he responded to John Canzano’s four stories, which detailed among other things that Scott makes more than any of his contemporary commissioners while overseeing a conference that is paying its member institutions less than the other top conferences.

His salary shouldn’t be compared to the SEC commissioner because Scott, after all, runs a TV network, so he thinks he has as much in common with the head of ESPN as he does the guy who runs the SEC. You can’t compare the rent for the conference’s new digs in San Francisco to other conference headquarters, either. After all, the conference is a TV network so of course it had to move into the city with the second-most expensive rents in the country. After all, ESPN is located in … ummmmm … Bristol, Conn.

Seriously? Moved the headquarters to a high rent area because it is a TV network? I guess ESPN isn't the model he wanted to emulate? The guy is an arrogant ego maniac and one that is also an idiot. Dangerous combination. But, I guess this Conference sets their bar so low they just don't care?

The other conferences, they recognized that they’re administrators with no background in assembling, marketing and distributing TV programming, so they struck deals with people who were – you know – in the TV business. They let them handle the nuts and bolts – or the lights and the cameras – to televise games involving their schools and distribute that programming to an audience composed of fans of those schools. In exchange, they received payment from the television network. You know, broadcasting rights.

Sorry, his excuse that they have higher expenses because they run a TV network is foolish. Some one else would PAY you for the TV Network, you freaking dolt!

Why was the Pac-12 Championship played on Friday at 5 p.m.? The Big Ten played its title game on Saturday. So did the Big 12. And the SEC. And the ACC. And the AAC.

But the Pac-12 played its title game on Friday, with a kickoff before many work weeks had even ended. Not only that, but it was played in the Bay Area, the region of our conference that has the lowest overall enthusiasm for college football.

Why is it played in the Bay area. So Larry doesn't have to go to an airport to get to the game?

The worst of this is it is obvious the University Presidents don't care, so nothing is going to change. This man will continue making more money than anyone in any other Conference for doing less than anyone in any other Conference.

Hmm because San Fran is a huge market and two of the conferences schools are in the backyard. The only potential move I see that would make more sense is to LA when the new Rams stadium is finished.

Come on, do you not see the stadiums when we play at Cal and Stanford. They are barely half full.
