One of the best, most informative websites I've used since 1997 is http://www.horseadvice.com. The message board is moderated by a veterinarian, and is used by people around the world so there's no shortage of advice and ideas. There are also a number of very informative articles available for you to research to your heart's content.

Re: Different riding disciplines

Stardusty,

Thanks for the Web sites. I'll add them to the list. Would folks be interested in separate postings from the individual riding disciplines? Do you know anyone who'd be interested in posting comments related to hunter/jumpers to help get the conversation going?

Is anyone from other riding disicplines interested in posting about their sport?

Joan

Hi Joan,

I personally am active in a wide range of disciplines and love reading about them all. Something I'll mention for anyone interested in Hunter Jumper information is that "The Mane Event" is taking place this coming weekend up in Chiliwack, BC (about 15 minutes from the Whatcom County/Sumas Border crossing) and George Morris is one of their clinicians again this year.

http://www.horsereunions.com/welcome/list.html

This is a website that lists Responsible breeders of all breeds of horses willing to take back animals that they've bred who need assistance for any reason.

I happen to be a Responsible dog breeder as well as a very small scale breeder of Arabian horses who has long felt that more breeders of horses need to pay attention to where those animals are going and be willing to take them back if the horse finds itself in need and this website helps potential buyers know what breeders are trying hard to be responsible for what they produce.
