Sounders FC: European tour / Friendlies?

Postby SirThomas on Fri Jan 11, 2019 4:14 am

Hello all, European fan of the Sounders here, more exactly from Altstätten (Switzerland border with Austria).

I've been watching closely Sounders since Stefan Frei was transferred in from Toronto FC, as I'm also a goalkeeper and I was born in the same city as him.

I know these days the most obvious options for European teams is to schedule a friendly with a MLS team in their pre-season tours in the US... however, do you guys think there is any chance that Sounders can do a pre-season in Europe, more exactly here in Switzerland like many of Europe top teams do in the summer period?

Or at least schedule a friendly with a Swiss or German top team in Europe? I'm thinking of Basel FC, Borussia, Leipzig, ..
I think that it could also be a gesture of recognizing the importance Stefan has been having during these last years for Sounders and do for example, a tribute kind of match to him..
I'm a bit suspicious, but I think he already sits along top-notch players that represented our soccer team like Dempsey, Obafemi Martins, Fredy Montero or current captain Osvaldo Alonso..

I really wish to seat in the CenturyLink Field one day and watch the Sounders, preferably while Stefan is still playing, but that is quite improbable in the coming years... so a European tour would be easier for me to accomplish that dream :)

There is still much to conquer this season Sounders, I believe that this will be THE season! Let's go!
I really hope that someday I would laugh my ass off with some news like this about porn "Denver Broncos fans turn to porn following defeat to Seattle Seahawks" when we win the MLS title

I really believe friendlies with the MLS league helps a lot, especially playing against up and coming teams, usually the newly promoted teams. They put their best of energy and passion into every match, with hopes of increasing their chances of staying the league mzansi porn.
