Shooting fish in a barrel like he did could have been accomplished in semi-auto.
1 kill shot at a range of 100 yards every 10 seconds, more or less..?
He could have lobbed a few volleys of arrows / darts into what looked to him was a "Sea of Trumptard Nazis" and scored quite heavily that way too.

Right, hate to be glib, but this guy was a terrible shot. 20,000 people there. He's firing at a rate of 9 bullets per second and only 60 people are killed?

That is the result of firing at an area rather than aiming at a selected target. It's the reason bait school and prey animals herd. Many moving "targets" attempt to confuse the predator.

Why didn't someone turn out the lights at the stadium?

Not sure if that would have been good or bad. On the one hand the shooter would have been able to see less, but on the other hand, people trying to escape as well as help others would not have been able to see.

Unless people with access to the lighting control system had rehearsed what to do in case of something like this....
I doubt there would even be a "Master Dump" control handy.

Like KC points out, no lights might have made matters worse since this was such a mass of humanity that you could fire blindly into the general direction while jerking to your Che Guevara poster with your freehand.
I expect to hear from the FBI any day now that the shooter was just a registered Republican that simply disliked Country Western music.......

I've actually heard reports that Paddock liked country music. He was scoping different venues, one was chickfest Lalapalooze the other an alternative concert.... he chose a country music crowd, but even beyond that, it was a pro-Trump, pro-American crowd. This guy did too much planning for that to be an accident.

The LVMP have said he had a secret life. They know he had at least one accomplice. ISIS still claiming emphatically that he's one of them.

The media really pisses me off because they lump all these mass shootings together and distort the facts. The most important discussion right now is not guns, but whether there was a political motive involved. If there's a political motive that means it was a terrorist attack. The media would rather talk about angry white guys or guns. The last thing they want to talk about is terrorism because it bumps them off of there preferred political talking points. Terrorism is not normally a white guy problem, and as we know, terrorists don't need guns to kill people.

The story changed yesterday. Originally, the police said that Jesus Campos, Mandalay security, was shot by Paddock just before he shot himself. Now it turns out that Campos was shot a full six minutes before Paddock started shooting down on the concert.

Mr. Campos was encountered by the suspect prior to his shooting to the outside world,” Lombardo said at a Monday news conference.

Police officers who started searching the hotel after the shooting began didn’t know a hotel security guard had been shot “until they met him in the hallway after exiting the elevator,” Lombardo said. He didn’t say whether Campos notified casino security after he was shot.

A police spokesperson did not immediately respond to several follow-up questions from the Los Angeles Times seeking clarification on the new timeline.

Charles "Sid" Heal, a retired Los Angeles County sheriff's commander and tactical expert, said the new timeline “changes the whole perspective of the shooting."

In the solitary world of video poker, Stephen Paddock knew how to win. Until he didn't
Heal said that if police had known immediately that a guard had been shot, they would have rushed the room while the gunman was still firing. He said it seemed to signal a breakdown in communication.

“It doesn't say much for hotel security,” Heal said.

After Campos was shot, a maintenance worker appeared on the 32nd floor and “Campos prevented him from receiving any injuries,” Lombardo said.

Representatives for the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino and the union representing the hotel’s security guards did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment.

Police say that Paddock shot up the concert for around 12 minutes, which actually seems like a small amount of time given that law enforcement didn't know where he was. But now we know that Mandalay Security was already onto Paddock well before he started shooting. Why did it take so long to bring the cavalry to the 32nd floor? Also, what made Paddock shoot himself? We know now that it was not the security guard, and Paddock also had a lot of bullets with him.

Anne Coulter has some interesting theories on Paddock:

Did this guy really make all of his money playing video poker? As Anne points out, this has been a running theme for the MSM, but it doesn't make sense. The games are designed to win over the long-term. The more likely scenario is that Paddock was playing video poker in part to launder money.

She also brings up another interesting theory -- is it possible that Paddock made his money as an arms dealer?
This would explain why he had 23 guns in his hotel room.

Something is going on here... who has a theory?

The security guard that was shot was supposed to speak about what happened and then bailed. Nobody knows where he is. Also, the LVMPD changed the story to say that Jesus Campos was shot six minutes before Paddock started shooting on the concert. Now Mandalay Bay is disputing that timeline again:

“We know that shots were being fired at the festival lot at the same time as, or within 40 seconds after, the time Jesus Campos first reported that shots were fired over the radio,” the statement said. “Metro officers were together with armed Mandalay Bay security officers in the building when Campos first reported that shots were fired over the radio. These Metro officers and armed Mandalay Bay security officers immediately responded to the 32nd floor.”

This is the biggest mass shooting in US history. ISIS has claimed responsibility repeatedly. We don't have a motive.... and we don't even have a consistent timeline... WTF?

I don't know what to believe at this point. If the police knew right away and they were at the casino, as the casino says, why did it take another 19 minutes to stop the shooter? And then, according to the police, they didn't even stop Paddock, he shot himself.... with gloves on for some reason.

Also disturbing, the MSM is not asking questions or providing pressure for answers like they normally do. They would rather talk about gun control and move on. This is how conspiracy theories spring up. There's no other choice when the story from the authorities in charge keeps changing.
